President Harrison opened the meeting at 7:15 pm.

North Colonie Kids Care: This month’s recipient is Jackson Couture.

Principal’s Report: Dr. Casey Parker introduced SMS teachers Catara Westbrook and Sepideh Yasrebi, who presented a banner that was made with 300-400 messages from students with messages of unity and strength.

The Superintendent recognized the following:

Each month the Board recognizes those students whose contributions or achievements are outstanding, employees who go beyond the call of duty, and community members whose generosity is greatly appreciated.  This month, we are pleased to recognize:

  • Students
    • All fall sports teams have qualified for New York State Scholar Athlete Team Award
    • Latham Ridge first grader Shea Farquharson’s art piece “Polar Bear” was selected by NYSSBA as the image printed on NYSSBA’s annual holiday card.
    • Kathy Skeals gave an update on the 1st Amendment 1st vote program. Four Shaker High School students were invited to the Capitol to be in the Governor’s inauguration video. The 1st Amendment 1st Vote program was invited to be guests at the Governor’s inauguration.
