2018 Capital Region Media Arts Festival winners
Eight Shaker High School students had artwork selected as winners for the 2018 Capital Region Media Arts Festival, sponsored by the Capital Area Art Supervisors, the New York State Art Association Region 6 and the Bethlehem Central School District.
A panel of art educators from each school reviewed and selected the work for the show.
220 works are currently on display from 19 school districts and a total of 100 minutes of film. This festival was developed and organized to provide students with a venue to explore and share their creative efforts in the media arts.
A reception will be held on at Bethlehem Central High School on Monday, April 30 and will include an awards reception. The jurors this year included Professor Susan Krause (Hard Copy), Steven Kutny (Hard Copy), and Juan Louis Lopez Fonz (Film).
In addition, the exhibit also featured a festival on Friday, April 13. The festival included a keynote presentation; a film festival and special effects presentation by sculpture professor, Susan Krause from Savannah College of Art and Design.
