Happy New Year! Hope your winter break was enjoyable and that heading back to school has gone well for you and your children. We encourage you to come to the PTSA (Parent/Teacher/Student Association) meetings to learn more about our school and share your ideas and talents throughout the year. Its not too late to join! For a Membership form, click here. The PTSA plans things during the year and hosts various end-of-year celebrations for the classes. We will be discussing the Jr. After Prom at our next meeting, March 3.

Fundraising Information

Recycling Printer Cartridges
We now can get money from each printer ink cartridges we return. All you have to do is drop your used printer ink cartridge from your home or work in the box in the Main Office.


Tools for Schools
Price Chopper has a great program to donate to schools through its “Tools for Schools.” In the past, we have selected some great prizes which we gave away at the year end celebrations. Its so easy – nothing for you to purchase, all you do is register your Price Chopper AdvantEdge Card at www.pricechopper.com and put in our school code: 15808. We start earning points immediately. You only have to register once. Its that easy!

In addition, we are also selling: Hoffman Car Wash tickets; Entertainment Books; Shaker High Quillows (blue/white fleece blanket that folds into a pillow); SHS ornaments; and SHS apparel wear. For order forms, click here.

SEPTA News

The North Colonie Special Education PTA (SEPTA) was chartered on January 15, 2008, with 31 members. The North Colonie SEPTA is the first of its kind in our region. It serves special education and gifted students in grades preK–12. New members are welcome to join by attending upcoming meetings or by contacting the president (see contact information, right).
