Shaker High School art students recognized at 2017 Capital Region Media Arts Festival

Several SHS students had their work selected for the Regional Juried Media Arts Festival at Niskayuna High School on April 5.

Congratulations to the following Shaker students on being recognized by the judges for their work in the areas of film, animation, digital photography and graphic design.

  • Nate Jerome won second place in figure/portrait photography, third place in still life photography, and first place in the digitally manipulated photography category.
  • Shelby Kwarta placed third also in digitally manipulated photography.
  • Maddie Ames placed second in digital illustration

Film video students Lucas Gray and Nate Jerome won the public service announcement category for their film titled “Train Wreck.”

Special thanks to the art and design teachers for their support of these talented students: Mr. Aubin, Mr. Doolittle, Mr. Hanley, Ms. Chornyak and Ms. Lue.
