Seven Shaker High School students have been selected as finalists in the 2018 National Merit Scholarship program. This distinction places them in a group representing about one half of one percent of U.S. high school graduating seniors. They include:

  • Therese Biazon
  • Jonathan Choi
  • Zhige Lu
  • Michael Mu
  • Sananda Pai
  • Helene Ryu
  • Matthew Simkulet¬†

The same students had qualified as National Merit Semifinalists in September 2017, based on their performance on the 2016 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. Only 16,000 students nationwide, out of the 1.5 million students who were eligible, received the honor.

Congratulations to all of these students and their families for this recognition of their scholastic achievement.
