North Colonie appoints Interim Assistant Superintendent for Business

| January 20, 2015

Resulting from North Colonie Assistant Superintendent for Business Thomas Rybaltowski’s retirement, Superintendent Joseph Corr is appointing G. Scott Hunter as interim Assistant Superintendent for Business. Given the need to optimize time to generate the strongest applicant pool for a permanent replacement, Hunter will serve in this capacity from January 5, 2015 to approximately June 30, 2015.

Hunter is an experienced veteran educator with forty-one years of experience. This experience is broad and vast, having served as a secondary science teacher, educational consultant, school business administrator in the Schodack Central School District, and superintendent of two school districts, Mexico and Chatham, N.Y. Although he retired from active service in 2008, Mr. Hunter has continued his service as an interim school business administrator and superintendent for Questar III BOCES in Castleton, NY. He has also worked in a consultant capacity for the Ichabod Crane Central School District, the Capital Area School Development Association (CASDA), and as an expert witness/consultant for the New York State Office of the Attorney General.

In addition, Mr. Hunter was one of the CASDA reviewers and co-authors of the report, Review of Business Operations and Human Resources for Efficiency and Effectiveness, delivered to the Board last year as a review and recommendations document for our business office and human resources department. Thus, having done this report, he could enter this job with a sizable knowledge in the areas of our Business Office operations.

We welcome Mr. Hunter to North Colonie!
