November 2, 2007 – Congratulations go out to Shaker High School’s Junior Varsity football team, coached by Greg Sheeler with assistance from Shaker graduates Mike Grimes and Andrew Brassard, for winning the Section 2 JV Super Bowl by defeating the undefeated Saratoga 28–0 on Oct. 25 at Saratoga. Shaker qualified for the Super Bowl in the playoffs by defeating Shenendehowa 33-3.

“The team has worked very hard in the weight room for the past 14 months to get themselves in top physical shape and their hard work paid off,” said Athletic Director Dave Herman. “This is our first Super Bowl Championship and the best record ever achieved by a JV team.”

The team finished the season 8-1 and won the Liberty Division Title.
