May 1, 2008 – Congratulations to the nearly 50 students districtwide who were honored with North Colonie Central School
District’s Physical Education Department Leadership Awards.
Recognized for demonstrating positive character traits, these
students received their awards during the department’s fourth-annual
Leadership Awards Ceremony on April 22.
“You have shown that you can be a role model for others and should
be very proud of yourself,” said Director of Physical Education and
Athletics David Herman in a letter to the recipients. “Our hope is
that you will continue to develop your positive character traits to
become leaders in our schools, on our sport teams and beyond high
school.”
The school district offers a number of character education programs
to help students become good citizens. The physical education
component teaches students about good sportsmanship, leadership and
character traits including honesty, respect, responsibility,
