November
2, 2007 - "Attitude is Everything" at Boght Hills Elementary School.
That's why the School Success Team, made up of 15 Boght Hills staff
members, focuses on finding positive solutions and opportunities for
teaching and rewarding student success.
Students who are "caught" going above and beyond the call of duty on
a featured word-of-the-month are being rewarded with a "Golden
Horseshoe" award that will be displayed in the school's trophy case,
along with the student's picture. Additionally, students will be
recognized on the school's PA system. The word-of-the-month for
November is "responsibility".
On Oct. 29, the School Success Team organized a School Success
Assembly featuring ventriloquist, Mark Wade, who entertained
students and staff with three different puppets that taught about
honesty, integrity, respect and responsibility. The students truly
enjoyed the characters and were thrilled with Wade's demonstration
of making his voice "come out of" inanimate objects and puppets.
There may be some budding ventriloquists to rival Wade someday.
Students' laughter and applause could be heard throughout the
school.
Teachers and staff members are looking forward to seeing the students put into practice the
lessons they learned about having a good, positive attitude and
using good character words as a guide in their home, school and
within the community.
