North Colonie has been ranked No. 4 in the
Albany area in student performance in a report from a Buffalo
business publication.
Buffalo Business First began publishing its new rankings of upstate
school districts on its website on Monday, Oct. 22, as part of its
"Guide to Upstate Schools."
According to the publication, the rankings reflect the collective
performance of each district's public schools from kindergarten
through 12th grade over a period of four years. They account for
percentages of students who graduate with Regents and advanced
Regents diplomas; student scores on Regents exams in 13 subjects;
and student performance on the state assessments given in grades
3-8.
In addition to being fourth out of 84 districts in the Albany area
in last year's "Guide to Upstate Schools," North Colonie was No. 14
out of the entire upstate region - 430 districts in 48 upstate New
York counties - that were part of the rankings. This year's rankings
for all upstate districts will be released on Friday by the
newspaper.
