Last night, the North Colonie Board of Education
held its Annual Organizational meeting and elected a new president
and vice president.
Linda Harrison was unanimously elected as the
new president of the North Colonie Board of Education, while Ann
Foster was also unanimously elected as the new vice president. Their
terms are effective immediately.
Harrison, who served as vice president beginning
in the 2009-10 school year through the 2011-12 school year, takes
over the position of president from Mary Nardolillo, who served as
Board president during the same time span. Harrison, elected to her
second term on the Board of Education in May 2010, has served on
many Board Committees, including as chair on the Curriculum
Committee and co-chair on the Employee Relations and Audit
Committees. She is employed by the New York State Department as an
Educational Specialist in test development. Prior to this, she was
employed by North Colonie for 34 years, teaching social studies at
Shaker High School.
Ann Foster assumes Harrison’s former role on the
Board as vice president. In May of 2011, she was elected to her
second term on the Board of Education. She has served as chair or
co-chair of the Budget Committee since 2006, presiding over some of
the most difficult budget seasons in quite some time. Foster
currently serves as the Deputy Director for the Division of Finance
and Rate Setting for the Department of Health.
