Six students to have 3D artwork on display at local exhibit

The North Colonie Art Department is pleased to announce the results of a juried high school art exhibit, Art in Three Dimensions, sponsored by the Capital Area Art Supervisors.

 

This year the Shaker High School Art Department has six pieces of student artwork included in this area show, designed to showcase high school 3-dimensional courses such as Sculpture, Stained Glass, Jewelry Design, Ceramics, and Advanced Studio Art. A panel of local artist judges reviewed the submissions and determined the selected work. Student work selected includes:

Anne Rowley, grade 12 (Ceramics), Nicole Choukina, grade 10 (Fashion/Fibers), Elyssa Enslin, grade 12 (Advanced Studio 2- Cardboard Painting), Andrea Goes, grade 11 (Jewelry), Bridgette Guerrette, grade 11 (Jewelry), Victoria Matthews, grade 12 (Wire Sculpture)

 

Many area schools participate in this exhibit, and this year our school submitted a wide range of strong artwork to this exhibition.

 

Special thanks and appreciation are also extended to SHS art teachers, Mr. Doolittle, Mrs. Marohn, and Mrs. Lue.

 

The reception will be held at Mohonasen High School the evening of Thursday, February 9th, and the exhibit will run from January 31 through February 29th.
