Ron Von Dell was elected to the Board of Education on
Tuesday, edging out his opponent, David Rosenthal, by
two votes. |
Mr. W. Ron Von Dell won the Special Board
Election held on Tuesday and will fill the ninth and final seat on
the Board of Education.
Von Dell received 248 votes, edging out his
opponent David Rosenthal, who received 246 votes. One write-in vote
was cast for Siren Chudgar. This will be Von Dell’s first term on
the North Colonie Board of Education.
Von Dell will serve the balance of the seat's
term, which was vacated by Siren Chudgar who resigned in November.
The term will expire on June 30, 2016.
“I am very surprised, but I am excited about
this opportunity,” Von Dell said. “I hope that I can be a very
valuable member of the Board of Education and represent the North
Colonie community well.”
Mr. Von Dell currently serves as Vice President
of North Colonie Friends of Music and is a three-year member of the
North Colonie Budget Committee. He was also the former Maplewood
Elementary representative to the North Colonie Parent Advisory
Committee.

congratulations to Mr. Von Dell,” Board president Mary Nardolillo
said. ‘Welcome to the team!’ “We look forward to spending a lot of
time together over the next few years representing the best
interests of our students and the North Colonie community. Thanks
also to Mr. Rosenthal for his willingness to run and for his
continued commitment to our district.”
