| Schools in the summer months
are perceived to be quiet places, where the work of a demanding
school year slows down and the time to recharge arrives. This notion
is incorrect.
With new pressures on education seemingly
arising by the day, there is no rest for North Colonie Schools as
the district prepares for the 2011-12 school year. To bring parents
and our community closer to the district this summer, we are
launching a web series, entitled Summer Stories from Your School,
designed to highlight important aspects of education both here in
North Colonie and in the state of New York.
The topics that will be covered include:
•
The newly passed tax cap
•
Professional Development
•
Getting our school buses ready for the new
year
• A video message from Superintendent D. Joseph
Corr
• A preview of the annual Newcomers Picnic
The district hopes that this series will help
connect you even more to North Colonie Schools and help to give you
a better idea of what takes place during the summer months. To
receive a notification when a new edition is added to Summer
Stories from Your School, you can sign up for the district news
notification on SNN.
North Colonie is constantly looking for new ways
to reach our public and offers many ways for you to follow us during
the summer and throughout the school year. The best way to stay
informed is by visting our district website,
http://northcolonie.org. You can also sign up for our School
News Notifier to receive e-mail notifications from both the district
and your child's principal. The district also offers an electronic
newsletter (North Colonie eNews) that it sends out twice a month
over SNN. We're also on Twitter - follow us @NorthColonieCSD.
