May 26, 2010 - The Blue Creek orchestra debuted “The Green Drakkoman”, an original composition by Alan Danahy of Niskayuna, at their spring concert last night. The orchestra was joined by Blue Creek 4th graders and alumni  from Shaker Junior High School and Shaker High School.
 

In front of a capacity crowd at Shaker High School, Blue Creek students paid a fitting tribute to their former classmate, Ben Stowell, who passed away in October after a four year battle with a rare type of bone cancer.

"The Green Drakkoman" was a superhero, created by Ben, to help him fight his disease.
