March 30, 2010 - This past winter, 123
German students from Shaker High School participated in the
2010 National German Exam sponsored by the American
Association of Teachers of German (AATG). These German
students competed against 26,000 students nationwide and
achieved some remarkable results in this prestigious
competition.
Kevin Angstadt, who scored in the 99th and Nathan Wei who
scored in the 97th percentile in the nation, became eligible
for the AATG Study Trip Award. Noah Van Ryn, Daniel Stuart,
Sam Junidlo, and Matthew Macutek ranked within the top 20. In addition, Jessica Pavelec, Ryan O’Connor, Megan Martel,
Adam Rogers, Ramy Elminyawi, Samantha Sohnen, Yun Choi, and
Doris Pu all scored in the 78th percentile and were also
awarded certificates of merit for their participation in
this contest.
The American Association of Teachers of German commended Ms.
Muldoon and Dr. Reale, the German teachers, for the
performance of their students in the 2010 AATG National
Testing Program.
