February 25, 2010 - The State University at
Albany is hosting an exhibit that portrays the unintended
consequences of drinking and driving. The exhibit entitled
"Friends One Day. One Wrong Turn" will be on display March 10 to
April 9 at the Empire Commons building.
The Friends Exhibit opened in 2003 at Siena College and has been
displayed on numerous college and high school campuses
throughout the country educating students and raising awareness
regarding drinking, driving and making good choices.
The exhibit focuses on the lives of four Colgate University
students who died in an alcohol related auto accident six years
ago. Numerous personal effects including photographs of the
victims' accomplishments, books, trophies and stuffed animals
are included as part of the display. Also included are pictures
of the fatal crash, police documents, interviews with family and
friends and a timeline outlining the students last hours up to
the accident.
The exhibit will also include a section devoted to Kathleen
Campion, an Albany State student whose life was tragically cut
short when she was killed in an auto accident by a drunk driver.
