February
10, 2010 - Moved by the devastation in Haiti last month, the
Latham Ridge Kindness Club stepped up and organized ‘Health Kits
for Haiti’, a drive to collect health supplies for the
earthquake victims.
Beginning on January 27 and running through February 9, Latham
Ridge students brought in specific supplies to help in this
endeavor. From wash cloths to combs, soap to toothbrushes,
students sprung into action and put forth an effort of good will
to help others in a time of need.
On the afternoon on February 9, Kindness Club members gathered
together and assembled the kits. In the end, Latham Ridge
students donated enough supplies to amass 100 health kits.
“The students all pulled together and made a difference,” Latham
Ridge teacher and Kindness Club organizer Danielle Pezze said.
“Their support and generosity was outstanding and it truly
shows. They wanted to make a contribution to this nation in
need.”
