23, 2009 - On December 16, New York State Senator, Neil Breslin, will come to Latham Ridge Elementary to visit with
third graders and discuss the different branches of
government. Part of the third grade social studies
curriculum covers the system of checks and balances and how
the three branches of government function.
Senator Breslin represents 46th District, which consists
entirely of Albany County. He was first elected to the state
Senate in 1996 and was sworn in for his seventh term on December
20, 2008.
"We are delighted that Senator Breslin has agreed to visit our
third graders,” Latham Ridge Principal, Jay Martin, said.
“Studying the branches of government comes alive when a real
senator comes to talk about his job."
