August 4, 2009 - There will be a new flag flying over Forts Ferry Elementary School in the upcoming school year.

During the annual Forts Festival celebration, students gathered together to design a new school flag for the 2009-10 school year. The theme of the festival was “Treasure Your Education”. Students met in their fort groups and came up with ideas for designing a new flag. There were 17 groups consisting of a mix of grade levels. After each group designed their flag, the flags were displayed in the hallway for everyone to see. Students and faculty then voted on their favorite flag.

The winning flag (pictured right) will fly over the school during the 2009-2010 school year. The 2008-2009 flag will hang in the gymnasium along with those from past years.
