June 24, 2009 - School principals usually
don’t have time to clown around at work, but Southgate
Elementary students weren’t surprised recently when Principal
Jerri Lynn Dedrick tricycled through the school wearing a bright
red clown nose and oversized shoes and bow tie.
Dedrick promised to perform a stunt of the students’ choosing if
the school raised $1,500 during its “Loose Change for Leukemia
and Lymphoma” fundraiser. Once it was determined the money had
been raised, Southgate students decided Dedrick should dress as
a clown and ride a tricycle through the school. The money will
be donated to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
