June 10, 2009 - Social studies teacher Seth Harris is the 2009 recipient of Senior Colonie Town Justice Peter G. Crummey's third annual Gavel Award.

Justice Crummey presents the award each year to a teacher in the Town of Colonie who promotes knowledge of the courtroom in the classroom. Judge Crummey noted that Harris, son of the late Supreme Court Justice Joseph Harris, has coordinated American Bar Association Law Day Programs for the past three years at the Junior High. This year's program included student mock trials at the Albany County Courthouse.
