| Boght Hills students enjoy ice cream sundaes on
school budget vote day. |
May 20, 2009 - Boght Hills Elementary School
held its first annual ice cream social on Tuesday, May 19.
Many thanks to all the supporters of our
school budget and for coming out to enjoy an ice cream sundae.
We have offered a pasta dinner for a number of years, but felt
it was time to try something new. Also, in light of the
difficult economic times that many of our families are facing,
we wanted to practice what we've been preaching to our students
and be models of "Boght Hills Gives Back" by offering free
sundaes.
As is customary, our fifth graders were
trained as waiters and waitresses and they did a fabulous job.
We would like to publically acknowledge the very generous
donations of ice cream, toppings, and paper goods from
Stewart's, Ben & Jerry's, Quandt's and Hannaford Supermarkets.
Many volunteers came out to scoop, serve,
scrub and smile and we are grateful for their time, talents, and
energy.
The staff auction was also a huge success.
We are very fortunate to have such strong partnerships in a very
charitable school community!
