Mackenzi Hall's
winning design is shown above. |
April 2, 2009 - Fifth-grader Mackenzie
Hall's drawing of a mustang will be the basis for Maplewood
Elementary School's new mascot design.
Earlier this year, students and faculty
voted to accept the mustang as school's new mascot. At the end
of February, fifteen students submitted drawings of how they
thought the design should look. All of the students did a great
job of capturing the essence of the mustang. Faculty
members carefully reviewed each of the drawings and eventually
voted in favor of Mackenzi's submission, which incorporated
the school's current maple leaf symbol as a birth mark on the horse.
Mackenzi's design was unveiled to students,
faculty and staff on Thursday, March 26. Congratulations Mackenzi!
