December
10, 2008 - Maplewood Elementary students recently met several
people who help make the community a safe and inviting place to
live.
Students were introduced to Officer Pat
Germaine, the school's DARE officer, Jason Geary, a Maplewood
volunteer fireman, and Principal Jerome Steele during November's
Character Education assembly, which focused on building
community. Each guest spoke to students about their role in the
community and how they make it a nice place to live. Principal
Steele discussed the school's recent food drive and the generous
donations students brought in to help feed needy families during
the upcoming holiday season.
