November 6, 2008 - A small act of kindness can make a big difference in another person’s life, and it can all begin with us!

That's the idea behind Latham Ridge Elementary School's "Pay it Forward" project, which kicked off in October.

The project, which is part of the school's character education program, encourages students to be kinder to others, both at the school and throughout the community. Students keep track of kind things they do and kindnesses they receive, and each time a student performs three kind acts toward others, their name is added to a leaf on the school's Kindness Trees, which will be on display throughout the year in the auditorium.
