June 1, 2008 - In honor of Music and Art for Youth Month, a body of artwork from each school districtwide was on display during the North Colonie Central School District’s Annual All-District Art Exhibit throughout the month of May.

During the opening reception on May 7, the Shaker High School Jazz Ensemble, under the direction of Peter Suzuki, delighted families and staff in attendance with live entertainment as they admired more than 300 pieces of student artwork.

Traditionally, the art show is held at the Latham Circle Mall. However, due to construction at this site, the location was changed to the New York State United Teachers building in Latham. Due to the venue accommodating fewer pieces of artwork, many of the schools featured student artwork in hallway displays throughout the spring semester and on the evening of the budget vote.
