April 21, 2008 - German club members and teachers planned, prepared
and cooked three distinctively German specialties that culminated in
a delicious feast during a recent club meeting.
In addition to the traditional dishes of currywurst, westphalian
cabbage and kartoffelpfankuchen (better known to Americans as potato
pancakes, which are always topped with applesauce in Germany),
students enjoyed plenty of gemütlichkeit, traditional German music
and conversation.
“Seeing Herr Hutson in that hilarious German lederhosen apron was
just classic,” said sophomore Andrew Minnick.
Many of the students claimed it was the best German club meeting
ever. It was such a success that the club plans to make the cooking
day an annual, or perhaps even semi-annual, event.
