1, 2008 - Blue Creek school counselor Eileen Satterlee was honored
by the Academy for Character Education at The Sage Colleges for her
commitment to Blue Creek's School Success Team. She received the
Champion of Character Leadership Award in March at the Caring
Community Dinner at the Franklin Plaza in Troy.
“Mrs. Satterlee’s dedication to students’ emotional and educational
needs is impressive,” said Blue
Creek School Success Team Chairperson Kathy Thompson.
“She truly believes in educating
the ‘whole’
child.”
As a member of the School Success Team, Satterlee is an integral
part of sustaining the Peaceable School Program, which focuses on
teaching students character education and conflict-resolution
skills. Because of her dedication and creativity, Blue
Creek students are learning crucial skills that will enable them to
be respectful and responsible members of their community.
“Her commitment to our
award-winning Peaceable School Program has helped expand our
awareness of character education in the classroom and beyond," added
Thompson. “She is a vital resource
for students, staff and parents.”
Blue Creek’s Peaceable School Program was also recognized at the
banquet for its commitment to teaching children character education
for the past 15 years.
