Tri-M Music Honor Society honors students and former
  music supervisor

Photo of Linda WagnerApproximately 40 Shaker High School students were inducted into the Tri-M Music Honor Society on April 17. Former District Music Supervisor Linda Wagner (pictured at right) was also inducted as an honorary Tri-M member.

The Tri-M Music Honor Society is sponsored by the National Association for Music Education (MENC), which is the largest arts education association in the world. Tri-M is much like National Honor Society where students are required to meet high academic and character standards, but are also required to meet exemplary music participation as well.

This year's Tri-M chapter chose to honor Linda Wagner for her years of service as music teacher and District Music Supervisor in North Colonie, her role in starting the Tri-M chapter at Shaker High School four years ago, and her example of personal strength, integrity and kindness for the students.

In 2005, honorary membership was given to David Rosenthal, founder of the North Colonie Friends of Music and then Board of Education president, and in 2006 honorary membership was awarded to David Alan Miller, Music Director of the Albany Symphony Orchestra.

Congratulations to all of the students who were inducted, and to Linda Wagner for being honored!
