On Feb. 2, over 250 Shaker Junior High School students and guests
were treated to displays of talent and musical excellence in the
Shaker Junior High School Auditorium.
“The Show,” Shaker Junior High’s annual talent show, starred 10
different acts, which competed for first, second, and third place
trophies. The acts were chosen from among many who auditioned from
the junior high school.
Guest judges featured Paul Caiano, metereologist from WNYT Channel
13, and Michael Haddix, Center for the Siena Saints, along with
North Colonie District Music Supervisor Deborah Keough and SJHS
student assistance counselor Michael Carpentieri.
Local band “Seventh Inning Stretch,” featuring Dimitri Vasilakis and
Peter Suzuki, SJHS music teachers, entertained the crowd during the
judges’ deliberations. A special appearance by Shaker’s own Blue
Bison (SHS freshman Kevin Angstadt in the suit) was a highlight of
the evening.
Shaker Junior High School music teachers Brian Austin and Peter
Suzuki coordinated the event, and Brian Austin also served as emcee.
Congratulations to the winners of 2007’s “The Show” at Shaker Junior
