Junior High School students were recognized for their good deeds on
Friday, Dec. 22 with a school-wide "Hat Day."
Earlier in the week, the Builders Club wanted to
collect 400 hats, gloves and mittens to donate to the Salvation Army
— within four days. The students, teachers, staff, and parents
quickly went into action.
Builders Club members created a bulletin board
and signs advertising the event.
Each day Dr. Moore updated the student body of
the totals. On the first day the school collected 71 items; the
second day they collected 150; and by the last day they exceeded
their total goal of 400 items!
"The kids were really enthusiastic," said
Builders Club co-advisor and Spanish teacher Stephanie Majewski. "I
think they understand that giving to others is just as important."
Thanks to the other Builders Club co-advisors
Staci O'Donnell and Holly Lindhurst.
