About the North Colonie Friends of Music

We are a group of parents, students, teachers, and community members who feel that music is a vital part of educational and social development. We are working to ensure that opportunities for musical performance and appreciation are available to everyone in our community.

The North Colonie Friends of Music provides awards for graduating seniors, music festival fees for Suburban Council, NYSSMA Area All-State and All-State, receptions for special concerts, funding for projects developed by North Colonie music teachers, Jazzaret in the winter, and much more!
 

The Steinway Piano Project

The North Colonie Friends of Music has launched a fundraising campaign to raise $80,000 for the purchase of two brand new Steinway grand pianos for Shaker Junior High School and High School auditoriums. We are proud of the $50,000 raised so far, and are looking forward to reaching our ultimate goal. Click here to contribute toward this fundraising campaign.
