The ability to read is the most critical skill our children must develop, and offering them a broad selection of books can help ensure they enjoy what they read.

Maplewood officially becomes district's 7th elementary school

The official annexation of Maplewood as North Colonie Central School District’s seventh elementary school became a reality on July 1.

“We have been working hard to ensure a smooth transition and warm welcome for our new students and staff when they return in September,” said Superintendent Randy Ehrenberg.

Voters overwhelmingly approved the official, binding annexation referendum in October after more than a year of examination by a feasibility study committee representing both school districts, as well as the completion of a feasibility study report. » MORE

Sister school promotes
cultural understanding,
enhances learning

Maplewood enjoys a longstanding relationship with its sister school, Gymnasium I, in Tula, Russia. In 2004, Maplewood students, parents and faculty visited the school where they were able to practice and improve their language skills, as well as enhance their cultural understanding.
