Dear Families,
This year has certainly flown by and it is
hard to believe it is already June! The Character Trait
for May was Patriotism. We talked about what Patriotism means and
why we are proud of our country
and our school. We wanted to show how proud we are of Maplewood so
each student had the
chance to make a “quilt” square for the Maplewood “Quilt.” Each
student was given a paper square to draw on. We asked that
students draw a picture of something that made them proud of
Maplewood. Once the squares are finished, we will be assembling
the quilt and will see it for the first time at our Character
Education Day on June 16th.
In June, we will be talking about Cooperation.
The Maplewood students have exemplified this Character Trait all
year long. We have all worked together in our classrooms and on
many of the
community service projects and challenges we held this year. The
Maplewood students and faculty
have shown a tremendous giving spirit and have truly started a
chain reaction of kindness and compassion.I really believe that we
have made a difference in our school and in our community through
Rachel’s Challenge.
As the year draws to a close, I would like to
express how much I have enjoyed working with your children this
year. Although I was only at Maplewood for a short time, I feel so
thankful to have
been a part of such a generous and caring community. I will miss
all of the students next year and I
wish you and your families all the best at your new schools. Thank
you for so many wonderful memories.
The Maplewood students will always hold a
special place in my heart.
Sincerely,
Miss Bremer
