Piet Mondrian is an artist best known for his paintings that he called "compositions". These paintings can be recognized because they consist of rectangular forms of red, yellow, blue, white or black. Through this interdisciplinary project, students used what they learned with their classroom teacher about different types of communities to create a “Mondrian Map”. Each map was of either a rural, urban or suburban setting.
