With so many exciting events and projects
under way, it is hard to believe this is the last newsletter of
the 2008-2009 school year. A number of field trips, class
picnics, end of year projects and celebrations will take place
in the next few weeks. Each day please continue to review
assignment planners, class newsletters and materials with your
child to keep informed and support your child’s preparation.
Our spring concert on May 20 featured uplifting and technically
challenging performances from the 5th and 6th grade chorus,
band, orchestra and the DRUM group. Congratulations to all of
our musicians, Mrs. Kimbler, Mrs. Bresnahan, Mrs. Mattison and
Mrs. Guba for a spirited and moving concert.
Summer reading program materials will be coming home very
shortly for students entering grades 3-6. The summer reading
program is intended to reinforce reading skills and the love of
reading throughout the summer months. Children may choose books
to read from the recommended reading list and prepare to discuss
their reading when they return to school in September. The
William K. Sanford Town Library also has a summer reading
program that many of our students enjoy each summer. Information
about the town library program will be presented to students
during the last week of school.
As we bring this school year to an end, I am especially grateful
to all of the families, faculty and staff members who work
together to foster citizenship, respect, curiosity and
scholarship in our students. We truly have a special caring
community of learners at Loudonville School.
Thank you!
Principal Kerry Flynn
