As we come to the end of this first marking period, our school
community faces many exciting challenges and opportunities. One
such challenge and opportunity is the departure of Mr. Shanon
Newcomb as he takes on his goal of becoming an agent with the
F.B.I. We wish him great success and students and faculty alike
will all miss his energy, spirit of adventure and laughter.
We also have many wonderful opportunities through our P.T.A.’s
efforts. We are enjoying the framed and mounted chalk mural
completed by our guest artist “Chalkgirl” last spring and will
have a visit by author Bruce Hiscock on November 9. Please
consider attending the Veterans’ Day Celebration on November 8th
at Shaker High School at 7:00 p.m. The ceremony is always very
moving as we come together to recognize the service of our North
Colonie veterans. At Loudonville School, please take a moment to
view the Loudonville Veterans’ Day Wall of Honor in the glass
hallway. Special thanks to Mrs. Dopp for organizing this and
maintaining this tradition.
I look forward to seeing many of you at some of the upcoming
November events.
