Students learn library skills appropriate to

What's Happening in the Library?
We are very happy to announce that
Loudonville School is participating in the New York State
Reading Association's Charlotte Awards 2008 in the spring. The
nominated books were purchased with money from the Loudonville
Building Council.
According to the association,
“the purpose of the Charlotte
Award is to encourage students to read outstanding literature
and ultimately become life-long readers. Additionally, the award
recognizes the authors and illustrators of such literature.
Students in New York State will read titles on the ballot and
vote for their favorites.”
The teachers and I will be reading the
nominated picture books to the children and the novels can be
read aloud or by the children individually in the upper grades.
In March, the students will vote for their favorite nominee. I
will submit the school totals to the state and we will be
notified of the state results and winners later in the spring.
