Lifeguard Review Course

| March 28, 2016

All lifeguards need to take a review course every two years. (There no longer exists a lifeguard challenge course.)  Shaker High School will be offering the course on May 12, 2018 from 7 a.m. until 2 p.m.  The course fee will be $100 and you must pre-register for the course by May 9. There will be a cut off of 30 participants, so register ASAP. Make checks payable to the Shaker High School. Click here for the registration form.

Certification Requirements:

* Pass 2 written tests with a minimum grade of 80% or better.

* Successfully complete four final skill scenarios

* Successfully perform all critical skills

** You must show that you are currently certified in Lifeguarding/CPR/FA/AED.  If not, you will have to sign up for a full lifeguarding course.  Bring proof of your certification, book and mask to the review course.  As of February 2017, the course has been updated, please go to redcross.org and look at the changes. Please note: there are several MAJOR changes. Study your CPR/AED/First Aid material as well.

If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Kippen or email at mkippen@ncolonie.org.
