hours
This letter contains important
information regarding student possession and use of
personal electronics during school hours. In an effort
to maintain an environment that is conducive to
learning, reduce the risk of loss or damage to personal
property, and address the mandates put forth around
school climate by the Dignity for All Students Act, we
are instituting the following guidelines.

To further ensure the safety of our staff,
students, and visitors, staff members have been asked to provide
the main office with a list of adult family members expected at
parties, project presentations, and similar events. To assist
them with gathering this information, we ask that you provide a
written RSVP for special events as much in advance of the visit
as possible.

With the most recent tragedy in Connecticut, the
feelings of disbelief and sadness are evident. When
these horrific events occur, it is natural to turn
within and ask ourselves two questions.

A message from Nurse Zandri
As part of a required school health examination, a student
is weighed and his/her height is measured. These numbers are
used to figure out the student's body mass index, or 'BMI''.
The BMI helps the doctor or nurse
know if the student's weight is in a healthy range or is too
high or too low.

Latham Ridge student goes the extra mile
Close to 700 fourth, fifth, and
sixth-graders from the North Colonie ran in their one-mile cross
country race. But fifth-grader Cassidy Careccia volunteered to
run even further to make sure her best friend was able to cross
the finish line. »

Program
If you have not already done so, please
re-enroll your Price Chopper AdvantEdge Card in
the Tools for Schools Program. Price Chopper
cleared its Tools for Schools database last
spring, and all Latham Ridge families must
re-enroll in the Tools for Schools Program to
have dollars spent at Price Chopper be counted.
