In December, our community spoke and we clearly heard their concerns regarding our proposed capital project. We are thankful for the feedback we received and are offering further opportunities to discuss the next steps to address the issues the district continues to face, including significant enrollment challenges, buildings that must be properly secured to ensure student safety, and learning spaces that will prepare students of today and tomorrow for success. Join us for the first of a series of community conversations that will help guide us in making decisions that balance the best interests of our students and our community.
The first community conversation will be held on Monday, January 30 from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Shaker Junior High School Auditorium. Volunteer communications specialists from the Capital Region BOCES will facilitate the small group discussions, which will raise some valuable ideas as we move forward in this process. The district believes this type of forum will offer the community the opportunity to become involved in a thoughtful, deliberative discussion about the future of North Colonie Central Schools.
We ask that you R.S.V.P. for the event by January 24, 2017.
We look forward to seeing you on January 30.
