Forts Ferry student named Capital News 9 Kid of the Week

Forts Ferry second grader Carly Martin was recently named Capital News 9 Kid of the Week. Carly's parents said she wanted to donate her hair to Locks of Love. Some of Carly's family members had cancer and she wanted to do make the donation to help others afflicted with this disease. Carly patiently waited for her hair to grow long enough and gave her locks to help others.

North Colonie ranked #1 school district in Capital Region

For the fourth time in seven years, The Business Review of Albany has ranked North Colonie as the Capital Region’s top performing school district. The Business Review uses report card data from the New York State Education Department to produce an annual rank of the region's 85 school districts. North Colonie has ranked among the top three districts each year since 2003 and was ranked as the top district three years in a row, from 2004 to 2006. The most recent rankings were published in The Business Review's June 19-25 edition. » MORE
