Former Shaker Booster Club officer arrest

| January 7, 2016

The North Colonie Central School District has been made aware that a former officer of the Shaker All Sport Booster Club, Tracy Martuscello, has been arrested by the Colonie Police Department in connection with allegations of misappropriating Booster Club funds. Martuscello has been charged with third degree grand larceny and falsifying business records in the first degree. According to Colonie Police, the charges relate to three checks written in the summer of 2013 for a total of $6,000.

Please keep in mind that the Booster Club is its own 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation that is not legally affiliated with the North Colonie school district in any way.  As a result, there is not any claim that any monies belonging to the district have been misused or misappropriated.  Nonetheless, the Booster Club has provided significant benefits to our students, and the district hopes for that to continue.
