The eleven Shaker High School students recognized as New York State School Music Association All-State musicians.

The eleven Shaker High School students recognized as New York State School Music Association All-State musicians.

Congratulations to eleven Shaker High School students who have been recognized as New York State School Music Association All-State musicians!

This is the most North Colonie students ever to be accepted into NYSSMA All-State.

Selected were:

•Derek Cho, alto saxophone in the Jazz Ensemble

•Alex DuMont, flute in the Symphonic Band

•Dong-Seop Eah, trombone in Symphonioc Band

•Rebecca Farrell, soprano in the Women’s Chorus

•Erin Graney, alto in the Women’s Chorus

•Daniel LaSalle, bass in the Mixed Chorus

•Helen Lewis, cello in the Symphony Orchestra

•Lark Parmalee, viola in the Symphony Orchestra

•Devin Canavally, alternate on voice (tenor)

•Paul Reepmeyer, alternate on jazz guitar

•Michael Rinaldi, alternate on jazz alto sax

“I’m extremely proud of the hard work and dedication these students have shown to achieve such an honor,” said District Music Supervisor Deborah Keough.

“This is a great reflection of the effort of these amazing students and the quality of the music programs in North Colonie schools,” said District Superintendent D. Joseph Corr.

The students will perform at the NYSSMA Winter Conference in Rochester on December 6 and 7.
