District seeks input for new Director of Physical Education and Health/Athletics

| February 6, 2017

Dear Members of the North Colonie Community:

After 33 years of dedicated service to the North Colonie Central School District, Mr. Edward Dopp has announced that he will be retiring at the end of March. The District will have an interim serve in Mr. Dopp’s role until the conclusion of the school year and will commence a search for a permanent replacement who will begin on July 1, 2017.  As Mr. Dopp’s position involves physical education, athletics, and health, we would like to get input from our North Colonie community members on the characteristics we should look for in a new Director of Physical Education and Health/Athletics.

We are all deeply appreciative of his service, and while we all wish him well, we will certainly miss him.

As we have done in the past, we will be forming a committee comprised of parents, teachers, students, administrators, coaches, and staff members to help us identify the best possible person to replace Mr. Dopp. We would, however, like to solicit input from more people than we could realistically have on an interview committee. As such, we are asking you to take a few moments of your time to complete a survey regarding the characteristics you would hope to see in the next Director of Physical Education/Athletics. The survey should not take more than ten minutes, and your input will be invaluable as we move forward in the selection process.

To access the survey, please click here.

Survey results will be analyzed by constituency group, not by individual, and the input will be shared with the interview committee.  I thank you in advance for your willingness to provide us with your feedback as we work together to find the replacement for Mr. Dopp.  If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Sincerely,

Kathleen Skeals
Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction
