April 15, 2010 – North Colonie residents are encouraged to attend a
public forum to review the district's 2010-11 budget proposal and to
“Meet the Candidates” who are running for election to the Board of
Education.
The budget forum will be held at Shaker Junior High School on
Thursday, May 6 at 7:30 p.m. The "Meet the Candidates"
gathering will be held immediately after the budget forum.
Residents are encouraged to attend to learn more about the
district's budget proposal and the board candidates and their
positions on important school matters.
Residents will go to the polls on Tuesday, May 18, 9
a.m. to 9 p.m., to vote on the 2010-11 budget proposal and for
candidates running for election to the Board of Education.
Polls will be open at all elementary schools and the Goodrich
Building.
Incumbent board member Linda Harrison is running unopposed
for re-election. C. David Gaynor and David Mantey are running for
the seat of Theresa Joslin. The deadline for submitting petitions
to run for election to the board was Monday, April 19. Board seats
are unpaid and members are elected to five-year terms that begin on
July 1 of the following school year. The term of office for the two
seats up for election this year is July 1, 2010
to June 30, 2015.
