Bomb threat at Shaker Junior High School investigated

| May 1, 2015

On Friday, May 1, a Shaker Junior High School administrator received a bomb threat via email, with references to the high school as well. In an abundance of caution, Shaker Junior High School, Shaker High School, and Blue Creek Elementary went into lock out, meaning no one was allowed in or out of the buildings. The Colonie Police Department was called, and eight officers responded to conduct a thorough sweep of all campuses. An investigator who is assigned to cyber crimes was also present. The police determined the threat to not be credible and the lock out was lifted. All schools resumed normal activity shortly after 9:00 a.m.

By 11:30 a.m., Colonie Police had identified the individual. The investigation will continue into this matter.
