Dear Families:
It is hard to believe that June is already here and we are
making plans for the end of the school year activities. It
certainly will be a busy month with June Jamboree, graduation,
end-of-year testing, concerts, and various field trips. I would
like to extend my sincere thanks to all of the volunteers who
will be helping us with these various events and to those who
have given of their time and talents throughout the year to help
make our school so successful.
I would also like to thank Dave Gaynor, our PTA President. His
leadership has been so helpful culminating in another successful
school year. Thank you to all of the PTA officers and PTA
volunteers for covering the various functions here at school.
Thank you to Mrs. Hart for coordinating the Jump Rope for Heart
each year. Thank you to Mrs. Nichols for keeping us updated,
rain or shine, with the sign outside. Special thanks to the
Boght Hills Fire Department, Sari VanSleet, Kara Larson, Becky
Kellerhouse, Ken and Mary Yodis, Chet Gongoleski, Dom Fuda,
Shannon Toomey, Ann Sauer, Anne Rubery as well as a host of
other staff members that helped make our Annual Pasta Night such
a success. I sincerely hope that I am not missing anyone, as we
are extremely blessed to have so many people who give generously
of their time. To all of the parents, faculty, and staff who
have gone the extra mile, THANK YOU! You truly make a difference
in the lives of the children who are so fortunate to be part of
the Boght Hills learning community.
Please join me in congratulating Mr. and Mrs. Doolittle on the
birth of their twins, Isabella Christie and Hunter Quinn, who
arrived on May 20th joining their big brother, Jackson. Mrs.
Doolittle will be taking a year’s leave of absence and will
return to Boght Hills for the 2009-2010 school year. During Mrs.
Doolittle’s absence we are privileged to have Mrs. Leslie
Carroll joining the first grade team. We are extremely grateful
to Mrs. Stephanie Barrows for guiding the students in their
learning process for the rest of this current school year.
Special congratulations are also sent to Mr. and Mrs. Penfold on
the arrival of their son, Michael Frederick Penfold. We would
also like to express our thanks to Ms. Nicole Hughes for
maintaining the instructional continuity in Mrs. Penfold’s
absence.
What would summer be without a good book! The District’s Summer
Reading Program is for students entering grades 3 - 6. Please be
looking for the summer reading information packet in the next
few weeks that will be sent home with your child. Parents of
students in grades K-2 should encourage their children to read
and keep track of the books read over the summer. More
information about the K-2 summer reading program will be sent
home with your child. Should you have any questions regarding
this or any of the other end-of-year activities, please feel
free to call.
In closing, I’d like to thank you all for your continued support
this year. It has been a pleasure working with you and your
children. I look forward to another successful year at Boght
Hills. Best wishes for a safe and happy summer.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Kim Greiner
Principal
