5th grade track meet postponed to June 1

The 5th grade Elementary Track Meet, originally scheduled for May 28, has been postponed due to the threat of thunderstorms. The meet will be held on the rain date of Monday, June 1.

Shaker All Sport Booster Club open board positions

The position of President is open for the 2015-16 school year, and the positions of Vice-President, Secretary, and Buyer will be open for the 2016-17 school year. Shadowing will be completed during the upcoming school year. »LEARN MORE

Youth Football Clinic

The Shaker High School football program will be holding its annual Youth Football Clinic on Sunday, May 31 from 4-6pm. The clinic is free to all current North Colonie students in grades 2-8. The clinic, which will take place at the varsity football field, will be run by the Shaker football staff and varsity football team. The coaches will introduce the skills and fundamentals necessary to play the game in a safe and enjoyable way. 2015 Shaker Bison Golf Classic

The Sixth Annual Shaker Bison Golf Classic, hosted by the Shaker All Sport Booster Club, will be held Friday, June 26, 2015, at 8:30 a.m. The day will include golf, dinner, and prizes. There is a reduced rate for those who register before May 14. »CLICK HERE TO LEARN MORE

CPR for the Professional Rescuer/AED/FA Challenge Course registration

If you are a lifeguard and want to keep your certification current, you must update your CPR for the Professional Rescuer/AED/First Aid card every year.

Lifeguard Review Course registration

All lifeguards need to take a review course every two years. Shaker High School will be offering the course on May 9 and May 16, 8:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. Participants must attend both days.  »CLICK HERE TO REGISTER

Shaker junior verbally commits to Boston College football program

Shaker High School junior, Brandon Barlow, has given his verbal commitment to play football for the Boston College Eagles in the fall of 2016. Barlow, as a sophomore in 2013, was a second-team all division offensive lineman. As a junior this past season, he was a first team defensive lineman. »READ MORE

Physical Education Leadership Awards

Congratulations to SHS seniors, Chantel Mochon, Steven Wood, and Malik Raheel Ahmed, who are Physical Education Leadership award recipients. The students were recognized at the Secondary Physical Education Leadership Awards Banquet, hosted by the New York State Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance Capital Zone. The students earned the award by setting the bar high in their physical education classes and serving as role models to their classmates.

Shaker High School Athletics earns top honor

During the 2013-14 school year, every Shaker High School Varsity team, (27 in total), maintained a GPA of 90 or above. At a recent Board of Education meeting, SHS was officially honored by the NYS Public High School Athletic Association as a Scholar Athlete School of Distinction. »READ MORE
