Fall Athletes of the Week, Week 4

In honor of Spirit Week athletes were nominated for recognition every day of the week.

Monday, Oct. 2

Emily Yu, a swimmer on the varsity swimming & diving team, won 100 breaststrokes at 1:08.88 against Shenendehowa, just off state cut. She exemplifies great sportsmanship. JV girls soccer player Holli Matrassi had a slide tackle 40 yards outside the box, an outstanding triple save and a double save for a shut out game. Congratulations to these students for their Athlete of the Day recognition.

Tuesday, Oct. 3

Freshman volleyball player Brianna Hardwick led the team to a 2-1 victory over Saratoga, with 14 aces. Varsity football player Jack Bush had two touchdowns, 95-yards rushing and a 48-yard reception in the first half of Colonie Cup and an additional touchdown in the third quarter. Congratulations to these students for their Athlete of the Day recognition.

Wednesday, Oct. 4

JV golf player Mike Pisinski earned medalist honors, had three over par 39, swept both his points, and was first sub 40 this JV season. JV cross country runner Meghan Kennedy was second for the team at 6 Flags Wild Safari Invitational and 22nd overall out of 169 finalists. Congratulations to these students for their Athlete of the Day recognition.

Thursday, Oct. 5

The modified soccer team volunteered at Northeastern Regional Food bank. Varsity soccer player Cait Wood has four goals in two games and is one of the top scorers in the league at 13 so far this season.  Congratulations to these students for their Athlete of the Day recognition.

Friday, Oct. 6

Modified field hockey player Davin Testo has had an excellent last three games in goal, including two shut outs. Varsity field hockey player Kelly Fitzpatrick is a senior goalie who has stopped a barrage of shots in regulation and over time. She is a great leader and teammate. Congratulations to these students for their Athlete of the Day recognition.
